Description
Cisco SPA-1XCHSTM1/OC3 1-Port Channelized STM-1/OC-3c to DS-0 SPA Port Adapter
Overview
The Cisco® Interface Flexibility (I-Flex) design combines shared port adapters (SPAs) and SPA interface processors (SIPs), taking advantage of an extensible design that facilitates service prioritization for voice, video, and data services. SPAs provide the physical interfaces for router connectivity ranging from copper, Channelized, Packet over SONET/SDH (PoS) and ATM. The Cisco ASR 9000 Series SIP provides the physical termination for the SPAs and accepts up to four half-height and two full-height Cisco SPAs. Customers can take advantage of improved slot economics resulting from modular port adapters that are interchangeable across Cisco routing platforms. The I-Flex design maximizes connectivity options and offers powerful service intelligence through programmable interface processors that deliver line-rate performance. I-Flex enhances speed-to-service revenue and provides a rich set of quality-of-service (QoS) features for premium service delivery while effectively reducing the overall cost of ownership
Specifications
Cisco SPA-1XCHSTM1/OC3 1-Port Channelized STM-1/OC-3c to DS-0 SPA Port Adapter:
Purpose and Connectivity:
-
- The SPA-1XCHSTM1/OC3 is designed for circuit emulation over packet (CEoP) and ATM services.
- It provides a single channelized STM-1/OC-3c port for versatile connectivity.
- This port can be configured with multiple channels of n x DS-0 in a SONET environment or n x E1, E1, fractional E1, or 64 kbps in an SDH environment.
Features:
-
- Jitter and Wander Compliance: The adapter adheres to ITU G.823/824 standards for traffic interfaces.
- I-Flex Design: Leveraging shared port adapters (SPAs) and SPA interface processors (SIPs), it prioritizes voice, video, and data services. The I-Flex design enhances connectivity options and offers programmable interface processors for line-rate performance.
- CESoPSN and SAToP Support: The SPA meets emerging standards for Circuit Emulation Services over Packet Switched Network (CESoPSN) and Structure-Agnostic Transport over Packet (SAToP) transport.
- Flexible Deployment: Different interfaces (such as Packet over SONET/SDH, ATM, Ethernet) can be deployed on the same interface processor.
Applications:
-
- Mobile Networks: It transports 2G and 3G network traffic over packet networks for mobile operators.
- Leased-Line Emulation: Network administrators can use existing IP/MPLS networks to provide leased-line emulation services.
- Low-Speed ATM Services: The SPA supports low-speed ATM services, including Inverse Multiplexing for ATM (IMA).
